Greetings!
Slaying The Dragon
Well - Yesterday was a tough day for us. Yes -
we have tough days as well.
About 2 years ago my mom fought a pretty tough
battle with cancer - and won.
Now we are finding that it has returned and we are
gearing up - again.
I will not go into great details on that right now because
we are headed to her house to clean it from top to bottom
as a surprise.
But let me tell you a little back story to this.
About 5 years or so ago I was able to pick the house up
she lives in at a great discount - it was near me -
and we promptly mover her and my grandfather over to it.
He was near me for the last few years before passing away
and it made a world of difference in out "together" time.
He was 92 when he passed away.
When my mom had her first battle - the fact that she was so
close made it easier for us to assist and do some of the
things she needed a little help with. My mom is a lot like me -
we don't normally ask for a lot of help on things.
Stubborn Cajun thing I guess.
Now - I tell you this because when I started - I had a goal -
that was to Fire my boss and move my mom and grandfather
out of the part of town they lived in.
I had specific Goals and I worked towards them.
And on days like today - when I felt like quitting and just
hiding in a corner - I put on my Batman Cape and went to
work - insider joke - my mom loves to tell everyone about
the time when I was supposed to be asleep and she caught
me jumping on the bed with a towel wrapped around my neck
yelling Nan-Na-Na-Na - BATMAN!
But - even on days like today - you have to determine -
what is The Most Important Thing for you to do.
For most people - they will sit and watch TV.
For me - I will go Slay a Dragon. They are Crunchy and Taste Great!
